Trip Planner Requirements Depend on Verified Pet Records

Explains why the Trip Planner is limited until your pet's records are verified, and how to request verification from your veterinarian.

Trip Planner access without verification

You can still open the Digital Pet Passport Trip Planner, but some guidance may be limited until your pet's records are verified in PadsPass.

Verification helps us match your pet's profile details to the requirements you're reviewing (which can vary by airline and destination). If your records aren't verified yet, we can't confirm that the profile information you've entered matches what's on file with your veterinarian.

What you can do now

  • Request verification: Ask your licensed veterinarian to verify your pet's vaccination and microchip records through PadsPass CheckPoint. Once verification is complete, you'll unlock the full Trip Planner experience.

  • Browse requirements while you wait: You can still explore general travel requirements and planning guidance for destinations you're considering.

Why verification matters for travel planning

Verification allows the Trip Planner to use confirmed record details to help you:

  • Build destination- and carrier-specific checklists

  • Plan timelines for common documentation steps (when applicable)

  • Reduce surprises by aligning your plan with the information in your verified profile

Airline, destination, and regulatory requirements may vary and may change. Always confirm current requirements with your airline, destination authority, and licensed veterinarian before travel.
